The Presidential Leadership Summit returns to Washington, DC, and NCLC can’t wait to see you there. The annual event gathers student body presidents from around the country together to learn new skills and tactics necessary for positive, lasting impact at the campus and federal level.

The four-day event will be hosted by NCLC, with student advocates and policy experts serving as keynote speakers. At the 2019 Presidential Leadership Summit (PLS), you’ll be able to interact with NCLC student voice researchers, meet graduate school and job recruiters, and experience a weekend full of phenomenal student leaders during sessions, panels, and ceremonies.

PLS 2019 will take place from Friday, June 9, to Monday, June 10, at the Hotel Hilton Washington DC National Mall. Lucky for you, we are hosting both event and registration for student leaders (Early Registration is $299 until March 15 and hotel rooms for three nights are $339 per student).

The Summit kicks off on Friday, June 7, with a Pre-Conference for first-time PLS attendees and the annual Campus Legacy Awards (CLA). Friday will begin with a series of sessions for students who are looking to become more familiar with PLS, get the 101 on higher education policies, and engage in goal setting. The CLA program honors students and student allies who are making a difference on college campuses, including the Student Body President of the Year. Registration is now open for the Pre-Conference and nomination submissions for CLA can be completed online.

On Saturday, June 8, most of the day will include small group discussions and panels. We’ve designed it in a way to provide unique opportunities to share best practices, develop meaningful relationships with peers and policymakers, and identify strategic ways to tackle big problems. The day will start with our renowned opening plenary, cluster breakouts for students to discuss their goals and plans for the summit, and the return of the Connector Expo!

Sunday, June 9, is all about tackling major policy and campus issues. From breakfast clusters to policy sessions, we’re giving students the chance to explore the issues and themes driving higher ed policy today.

The Summit will close with a journey to Capitol Hill! While attending the final day, you’ll get a policy briefing over breakfast before we head over the Hill. Use the insight you have from PLS to start important conversations with your lawmakers. We’ll be there every step of the way.

Tickets to PLS 2019 are on sale now. Attendees have two options to experience the Pre-Conference ($79) and the entire Summit (Early Bird is $299 until March 15) or the entire Summit itself. Keep in mind, Regular Registration will begin on March 16 at $329 and end on May 3, and Last Call Registration will begin on May 4 at $359 and end on June 1. Registration includes meals and session attendance. We encourage students to purchase a hotel room with NCLC through the registration page.
